Do you host weddings, retreats, or large groups?
No, Ripplewood Resort is designed for travelers looking to stay in Big Sur quietly.
Ripplewood offers an intimate, nature-centered experience that isn’t suited for large gatherings. We do not host weddings, retreats, or group bookings. Guests come here to stay in Big Sur for its peace and simplicity—something we proudly protect for every visitor.
Do the cabins have kitchens or fireplaces?
Yes, many of our Big Sur cabins include kitchenettes and wood-burning fireplaces.
We offer a range of cabins for those looking to stay in Big Sur with added comfort. Kitchen-equipped units include cookware and utensils, while select cabins feature fireplaces with wood provided daily. Perfect for those who enjoy a self-sufficient Big Sur stay.
Is there cell service or Wi-Fi on the property?
We provide limited Wi-Fi, but like most of Big Sur, there is no cell reception.
Staying in Big Sur means disconnecting from the usual distractions. While we offer free Wi-Fi near the café and store, and have recently added Wi-Fi around the cabins, there is no cell service on the property. Guests staying with us enjoy a rare opportunity to unplug and slow down.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
We kindly ask that guests honor these times so our team has time to clean and prepare the cabins. Early check-ins and late check-outs are not guaranteed but can sometimes be arranged in advance, depending on availability.
Are pets allowed?
No, Ripplewood does not allow pets.
To preserve the peaceful environment for all guests and protect local wildlife, pets are not permitted on the property. Service animals are, of course, welcome as required by law.
Is there food available onsite?
Yes, our café serves breakfast and lunch daily.
The Ripplewood Café is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and offers hearty breakfasts, fresh lunches, and vegetarian or gluten-free options. Guests are welcome to dine inside, outside on the patio, or those staying here often take their meals back to their cabin to enjoy with a view.
Can I cook at my cabin?
Yes—if you stay in a kitchen cabin, or one with a fire ring or picnic table.
We make it easy to stay in Big Sur comfortably. Many cabins have kitchens, and others feature outdoor spaces with fire rings and picnic tables. Firewood is available on-site, and safety protocols must be followed.
Do you sell groceries or gas?
Yes, our general store offers groceries, gas, and essentials.
Our on-site Chevron station and general store provide groceries, snacks, souvenirs, camping supplies, and fuel. It’s a convenient stop for travelers and locals alike, located right at the heart of the resort and open daily from 8:00 AM.
Is Ripplewood a good place for families to stay in Big Sur?
Yes—Ripplewood is family-friendly, but calm and quiet.
Families enjoy our riverside setting and cozy cabins, but we are not a playground-style resort.
